App Dev · Quality Engineering

Quality engineered, not inspected in.

ISTQB aligned quality engineering — shift-left, test pyramids, contract testing and performance engineering.

Quality is a delivery-team property, not a downstream gate. We embed quality engineers into product squads — shifting testing left, right-sizing the test pyramid, and automating contract, performance and accessibility checks so teams ship confidently to trunk multiple times a day.

Automated in CI

/ Capabilities

What's in scope.

Test strategy

Right-shaped test pyramid — many fast unit tests, fewer integration tests, thin end-to-end suites — reviewed quarterly.

Automation frameworks

Playwright / Cypress for web, Detox / XCUITest / Espresso for mobile, k6 / Gatling for performance.

Contract & API testing

Pact / Spectral for consumer-driven contracts, plus schema and behaviour tests in CI.

Accessibility & performance

axe-core and Lighthouse in CI, budgeted thresholds enforced on every PR.

Ownership over stewardship.

Developers own the tests they write; quality engineers coach, build shared frameworks and design the test strategy. The gate at the end is small because the pipeline earlier is strong.

Non-functional is functional.

Performance, accessibility and security tests belong in CI. If a PR silently regresses Lighthouse or introduces an axe violation, the build fails — not the release.

Common questions.

Do we still need manual QA?

Yes, for exploratory testing, complex scenarios and UX judgement — but not for regression. The mix shifts from mostly manual to mostly exploratory over time.

How much test automation is too much?

When end-to-end tests are slow, flaky or duplicating unit coverage. We continuously rebalance the pyramid to keep feedback fast and signal high.
