App Dev · API Platforms
APIs as products, not by-products.
REST / GraphQL / gRPC API platforms with OpenAPI-first design, gateways and developer portals.
APIs are products with users, SLAs and roadmaps. We build API platforms — OpenAPI-first design, gateway policy, developer portals, contract testing and consumption analytics — so both internal and partner integrations move at the same speed as your core product.
/ Capabilities
What's in scope.
API design
OpenAPI-first REST, GraphQL federation and gRPC — chosen per use case, governed by style guides and design reviews.
Gateway & security
OAuth2 / OIDC / mTLS, rate limiting, quota and threat protection at the edge (Kong / Apigee / AWS API Gateway).
Developer experience
Backstage / SwaggerHub portals, SDKs and sandboxes — because time-to-first-successful-call is the north star.
Contract testing & versioning
Pact / Spectral in CI so breaking changes fail before deploy, not in production.
REST, GraphQL or gRPC?
REST for stable public APIs, GraphQL for aggregation-heavy client apps, gRPC for internal service-to-service. Most enterprises use all three, chosen per audience — we help you avoid the one-hammer trap.
Design reviews scale better than gatekeeping.
A lightweight API design review (checklist + guild) catches inconsistencies without bottlenecking delivery.
/ Standards & Tooling
Common questions.
Do we need an API gateway?
Yes, once you have multiple consumers or need consistent authn/authz, rate limiting, quota and observability. Even internal-only platforms benefit from one.
GraphQL for public APIs?
Rarely a good fit. GraphQL shines for internal aggregation; public APIs benefit more from REST's caching, tooling and operational simplicity.
